While technology has made our lives so connected… it has caused an interested bump in the road for me. I love to reach out to people, even if it is spur of the moment communication via blogs, skype, facebook, and even the slow form of email.
With that said, I think I am coming to the conclusion – as obvious as it is to some – that email correspondence is not the best way to communicate with some people. Some are very receptive, while others misinterpret the meaning, or I just do a bad job of writing it out. With that in mind, I will be careful who I send messages to and who I merely talk to.
And I don’t just mean email. I mean all forms of written communication. If someone needs to talk and needs words of encouragement, then I need to talk with them. It will change how I communicate with some, but better that than misunderstandings that can come with reading an email wrong, or reading something into it that was never meant to be, or me asking questions that appear to be questioning rather than a way to learn.
