Is He coming? So many are saying He is. I really don’t know for sure, but I am looking at alot of stuff lately that makes me take pause. With that said, all I can do is pass along His word, drop to my knees and pray. I opened a bible on my office desk today. One that has been sitting in plain site, but unopened since I brought it in. Funny thing – it is from “I am Second” – well I know I am second. I know that God is first. I stumble and fall so many times, but I turn to Him and ask for help. I ask for guidance.
I looked at another passage today and said I have been doing that lately: 1 Thessalonians 5:8-11: “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing…” I have put on the breastplate. I have put on the helmet. I am working on building others up.
And another one that slammed me today: 1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray always…I love this little but powerful verse.
I pulled this from a site today that makes a person think:
There are two major segments identified with Christianity that are spoken of in Bible prophecy.
…This could be symbolized in the parable of the five wise and foolish virgins. It was announced that the Bridegroom was coming but five were not prepared to meet Him. There is a segment of Christianity that today is watching and waiting for Jesus because they and their watchmen believe the time of the Lord’s return is at hand. There is another segment that call themselves Christians but they are building their own kingdom on earth by their own self-efforts and they do not have a clue about the prophetic times we live in. They actually believe Christians are going to bring a paradise to the world without Jesus physically ruling in it. Since the kingdom they envision looks much like the utopia of the world socialists with all its humanism and materialism these false teachers are very popular in the world. However, to stay popular with the world they must water down the gospel and downplay the sinfulness of man and the warnings of hell and judgment to those who do not accept Jesus as Lord…..
One church identified with Christianity is teaching the gospel as written and one group identified with Christianity is selecting certain scriptures to be popular with all. The group that is teaching all of the Bible are very much the same ones that are watching for Jesus to return. The group that is watering down the gospel message is very much the same group that downplays Bible prophecy and mocks the watchmen of the Church who are saying Jesus is coming very soon. So logically, both groups are fulfilling prophecy because the scriptures indicate it would be like this in the last days. However, only one group is correct, which group can any true Christian believe that is? Is it the group teaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ or the group selecting only certain passages many times taken out of context or paraphrased to say what the passage does not say just to kiss up to lustful sinful people of the world? …By Don Koenig.
